Red Springs Artspace is pleased

by Janette K Hopper entitled:
Acute Observations: Expansive Experimental Works Inspired by
Water & Sky
Exhibition dates: Sunday, November 16 - Sunday,

Opening reception: Sunday, November 16, 2-5pm
Hopper is an internationally known Wilmington based
artist whose paintings are found in prestigious collections in
several European nations and many U.S. states. She has been in
over 300 solo, invitational and group shows in art centers, museums,
galleries and juried exhibitions. Some highlights include shows
with New York City artists in the Lincoln Center in NYC, a Fulbright
juried retrospective in Washington, DC, and a joint 2 person show
in Madrid Spain. She has had solo shows at the Frye Art Museum,
Seattle, in Bordeaux France, Copenhagen Denmark, Mannheim Germany
and Asheville NC. Her art, which includes drawings, watercolors,
oil paintings, prints, sumi ink scrolls, and masks, is owned by
over 60 public spaces such as museums, colleges and universities.

Artist Statement
Using oil paints on canvas, brushwork and a palette knife, I take
you on a journey to a place where I once was and long to be again.
The process, the struggle, the luminosity, the composition, the
textures and colors are always new and unique to each painting.
