Janette K Hopper, MFA, is a Wilmington based artist who has exhibited and taught internationally. She has paintings in the collections of the Asheville Art Museum, UNC Wilmington, NC; Paedigodishe Hochschule, Ludwigsburg, Germany; Gonzaga University, Spokane; National Nordic Museum, Seattle; Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Eugene OR; ARTISANworks, Rochester NY; Maryhill Museum of Art WA; Marselisborg Gymnasium, Aarhus, Denmark and many other venues around the world.

During her distinguished university career teaching in Denmark, Italy, Germany and in the United States, she received two prestigious Fulbright Awards, one from Denmark and one from the United States, allowing her to spend a full year teaching and painting in Denmark and exhibiting in one-person shows in Europe. In total, her works have been in over 300 solo, invitational and group shows in art centers, museums, galleries and in juried exhibitions. Some highlights in the US include shows with New York City artists in the Lincoln Center in NYC, a Fulbright juried retrospective in Washington, DC, a solo show at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle and one at the Maryhill Museum of Art.

She feels fortunate that her art is owned by over 60 public spaces such as museums, colleges and universities and also in many, many private collections in the US, Europe and Canada.

The artist says:” I love to read, hike, bike and garden, when I am not traveling or making art. I enjoy making drawings, watercolors, oil painting, printing, sumi ink scrolls, masks and performance and film art”
